We no longer accept requests for prescriptions over the telephone.
To order, please download the NHS App and register online or post your prescriptions in the designated box outside of the practice.
You can also send your requests via email.

Order using the NHS app

The easiest way to order is via the NHS APP. You can order your directly prescription on the NHS app.

You can also nominate a pharmacy where you would like to collect your prescription from using the NHS app.

Order by post 

Post your prescriptions in the red post box on the outside wall.

We no longer accept repeat prescription requests from pharmacies or companies.

Regardless of which method you use to request repeat medications we ask that you collect your prescription AFTER 4PM TWO working days after you put in your request.

Electronic Prescription Service

Patients can have their prescriptions sent directly to the pharmacy of their choice. To use this service please inform the pharmacy you wish to use and they will record your nomination and forward it to the practice.

Please note, this service is not for everyone. If you are on “Controlled Drugs” or your medication changes frequently, this service will not be appropriate for your needs. If in doubt please discuss it with your local pharmacy.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Medication Queries

If you have a query with your medication contact the surgery using the patient online request or call us and our receptionists will help.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS charges

From 1 April 2019, the charges are:

• Prescription (per item): £9.65
• 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £114.50
• 3-month PPC: £32.05
• A hormone replacement therapy (HRT) PPC costs £19.80 and will save you money if you need more than 2 prescribed qualifying HRT items in a year.

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
